Meet the panel and the Moderator:

Sahiza Hossenbaccus MBA, FCCA, CPA, CGA

As the President and Chief Financial Officer of SnapCab, Sahiza Hossenbaccus leads the strategic financial and operational activities of the company across Canada and USA. Sahiza joined as CFO in 2018 and rose to General Manager in 2020 before taking on her current role in 2023. With more than 25 years of financial experience in diverse industries such as software, service, and manufacturing, she brings a wealth of expertise and insight to the company. She previously worked at KPMG Mauritius among other companies before moving to Canada in 2002.

Sahiza holds an accounting designation from the UK, a CPA designation from Canada and an MBA degree. She was born and raised on the beautiful island of Mauritius, where she developed a passion for learning and excellence. She is also actively involved in the community, serving as a board member of Kingston Health Science Centre and past treasurer of a charitable organization in Kingston, Ontario.

Lucas Heney

Lucas Heney is the Creative Director and owner of James Media Co, a dynamic and innovative media production company right here in the heart of Kingston. With a passion for storytelling and a sharp eye for visual aesthetics, Lucas has established himself as a leader in the creative industry. Under his direction, James Media Co has grown into a renowned entity, delivering high-quality content and cutting-edge media solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients. Leanne O'Mara

Leanne O'Mara is Owner of six local Tim Hortons (J.E. Agnew Food Services Ltd.). Winner of the 2024 Business Person of the Year Award, Leanne is passionate about the Kingston community and making it a vibrant place for people to live and work. As an employer, she strives to make restaurants great places to work and to offer opportunities for today's diverse workforce.

Moderator: Bill Hutchins  

Bill Hutchins has been a journalist for just over 42 years. He launched his journalism career in 1982, starting at Ryerson campus radio, followed by his work as a news reader and reporter at Toronto radio stations, CKEY and CFRB/Mix 99.  Joining CKWS TV in 1990, Bill has covered memorable stories such as the 1991 visit of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, the 1998 Ice Storm and the 2003 power blackout, the COVID-19 pandemic, along with various municipal, provincial and federal elections and other stories of human interest. This month, Bill marks 27 years in the anchor chair -- as anchor and producer of the station’s flagship news program, CKWS News at 6. Bill also does freelance writing for Profile Kingston magazine and is a regular news contributor to FRESH Radio 104.3. In his spare time, he and his wife Andrea, enjoy being with their two grown children and 2 grand-children. He’s also taken up woodworking – starting with a basement bar, and he just finished a TIKI bar in the backyard!

The 2024 Inspiring People will take place on June 20, 2024 from 12pm to 2:30pm at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront (2 Princess Street) in the Bellevue Ballroom.

When you enter a Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce (“GKCC”) event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording and streaming may occur.

By entering the event premises, you consent to being interviewed, photographed, audio recorded, video recorded and streamed at the event. You grant to the GKCC, its representatives and any GKCC designated person or entity the right to reproduce, use, exhibit, display, broadcast, distribute and create derivative works of these images and recordings in any media now known or later developed, including but not limited to print, broadcast, electronic, digital and social media. These may be used for promoting and publicizing the event or other GKCC events and the work the GKCC does, and for any other purpose deemed fit by the GKCC, its affiliates and representatives. You release the GKCC, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the aforementioned activities.

By entering the event premises, you waive all rights to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, distribution, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication and irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by the GKCC or a GKCC designated person or entity.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event. However, please note that if you're scheduled to be a speaker, moderator, host, or the chief guest for any event, adjustments may be challenging to accommodate.
